What Came First, the Jerky Chicken or the Egg?

I was discussing with my father how sometimes going to law school can make you into kind of an a-hole. Actually he disagrees but I think sometimes after being trained to pick things apart and question everything can make you the world's most aggravating friend/spouse/sibling/friend to someone who hasn't suffered through 1L classes.

But the real question in my mind is not whether or not law school graduates are argumentative, it is are argumentative people more likely to go to law school. It's a legal chicken-and-the-egg situation.

Either way, maybe don't invite people like me to board game night.

Lawyers
Debating. Challenging.
Exacting, questioning, arguing.
Square pegs, round holes.
Barristers.

Since when has it been a character flaw to challenge, question, or debate what others say or what they accept as gospel truth?

If the idea or thought can withstand the challenge, then it is worth keeping. If it can't then it needs to be modified or discrded entirely.

The danger to the lawyerly questioning approach is like one of those famous Greek guys said "The price you pay for TRUE dialogue is you may actually change your mind."
